Cars can change lives; that’s the simple fact. Since launching Cars for Good in July 2025, every car donated has helped to rewrite someone’s story.
When families face multiple health and other challenges, their car usually isn’t a high priority. Until it breaks down or becomes unreliable. At that point, the impact is severe, stretching resilience to its limit as reaching medical appointments, school, and work becomes an uphill task.
Over the first 12 months of Cars for Good, we’ve met some inspirational people around Australia and New Zealand. Each story reminds us that vehicles can uplift people in their hour of need.
“You’ve changed my life,” our carefully chosen beneficiaries often say. It’s what we at easyauto123 firmly believe: transport is a lifeline.
Cars for Good is our way of giving back, of genuinely helping people move forward. Here are the stories of a few remarkable recipients.

Louie Deserves A Fighting Chance
Our inaugural Cars for Good donation still tugs at our heartstrings. Last July, our Adelaide easyauto123 team donated a Subaru Forester (2015) to the family of Louie the Brave, a name that says it all.
Louie was just 7 years old when he went from being just another happy-go-lucky kid to facing leukemia and severe mobility challenges after a serious infection damaged his left leg.
Louie’s mum gave up work and put everything on hold to care for her sick son. On top of juggling hospital visits and specialist appointments, she also cares for Louie’s two siblings. She contacted easyauto123, wanting to trade in her 2012 Pajero for a more affordable and practical vehicle that could fit a wheelchair.
We had just launched Cars for Good and were deeply touched by Louie’s story. Our team promptly nominated them for the first vehicle we ever donated.

A Family's Heartfelt Journey
The Te Heke family’s journey began when their son Dallas was born with a serious congenital heart condition. Dallas’s medical needs call for urgent hospital visits. Unfortunately, the family hatchback wasn’t always reliable, so Dallas’s mum, Joeleen, had no choice but to take her child on public transport.
“Rushing to the hospital on the train when he is unwell is very hard,” Joeleen said.
When our Liverpool team presented the Te Heke family with a Fiat Freemont (2015), their relief was palpable. Now, transport is one less worry for them. They can respond quickly to Dallas’s medical needs. School drop-offs for their older children and staying connected to their support network have also become easier.
Lightening the Load
Cars for Good is about lightening someone’s load when life deals them a tough hand. Over in Perth, WA, our Cannington team nominated Liz, who has been living with Motor Neurone Disease for the past two years.
Liz is a mum of three who describes herself as one of the “luckiest unlucky people.”
She never anticipated this diagnosis, but she won’t let it defeat her either. For Liz, what matters is showing her children that when life changes, you adapt and keep moving forward.
As her physical mobility changed, operating a manual vehicle got increasingly harder.
Then came a helping hand. Our easyauto123 Cannington team gifted Liz and her family a Mitsubishi ASX (2018). This safer, more practical car has eased the daily strain and helps Liz remain independent for as long as possible.

As Lucky Would Have It...
Sammy’s life is already busier than most people’s. In WA, she cares for two daughters who have complex healthcare needs. Somehow, she also finds the time to support other parents in her community. Sammy established a playgroup for children with all abilities and their parents, fitting it in between medical appointments, therapy sessions, school commitments and the demands of daily life.
That was until Sammy’s car began breaking down. Given the care needs of daughter, Chelsea, public transport wasn't an option. Eventually, Sammy’s inclusive playgroup stopped running. It simply became too difficult.
When our Balcatta, WA team gifted Sammy with a blue Mitsubishi ASX through Cars for Good, emotion welled up.
“You have no idea how much this means to me,” Sammy said.
We get it; a reliable car is crucial when you’re already carrying a lot. Her daughter has since named the car “Lucky” because of the comfort it brought into their daily lives.
A Turning Point for Jemma

In Melbourne, Victoria, we met a single mum of two boys navigating an incredibly difficult chapter. Jemma and her family became homeless after a gas leak made her rental property unlivable. Around the same time, a car accident deprived her of reliable transport, eventually causing her to resign from her job.
Shortly after securing public housing, Jemma welcomed her second son into the world. Then came some hard news. Her youngest son was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition and needs specialist treatment. Simultaneously, her eldest son, 3, is also being assessed for autism. Without a car, relying entirely on public transport for everyday needs and frequent medical visits created immense strain. Getting from A to B was one of the hardest parts of Jemma’s life.
After hearing her story, our Brooklyn team stepped in. Through Cars for Good, we donated Jemma a Subaru Forester (2017), providing her with more security, comfort, and safety.
Like any parent, Jemma wants to create a stable future for her two young boys, and we wish them strength, hope and brighter days ahead.
These are just some of our Cars for Good beneficiaries. Our next feature will focus on community leaders and how a reliable car boosts their tireless efforts to serve others, both people and animals.
