Ever tried using a Sedan like a camper? It’s tough! If you’re not the kind of person who can snooze sitting up, you’re going to have a rough night.
“I just can’t do it”, Rebecca laughs as she recalls the pitfalls of trying to sleep in her Ford Falcon.
Taking a Hike
Rebecca loves travelling. She’s been on numerous road trips in her Falcon over the last 9 years. Originally from New Zealand, she’s a member of a local camper-friendly hiking club that travels all over Victoria, helping her discover all the spectacular scenery that Australia has to offer. The beauty and vastness of the national parks, the inspiring freedom of the coast and the peaceful solitude of the countryside.
“When I’m travelling with another camper, we’ll pitch up a tent. But when I’m travelling by myself, I’ll spend the night in the car - it just feels a bit safer.”
Suffice it to say, as loyal as her Falcon has been, Rebecca felt it was time to move on.
“I had to change the tyres, get some new brake pads - I just thought that maybe it’s time for an upgrade.”
Team Brooklyn
Rebecca’s search for a new car led her to the easyauto123 website.
“I jumped online looking for something a bit bigger. An SUV. As I was scrolling down the page I saw the Holden Captiva. It was located at the Brooklyn easyauto123. Just up the road! I had a chat with Erol over the phone and arranged a time to come by after work the following day to check it out.”

“When I got to the car yard, Erol was still in a meeting but Cassandra was there to help me. She was great. I told her I was looking for a trade-in on the Ford Falcon and she took me over to the Captiva. Like a lot of SUVs, I was worried it was going to be too big and bulky but, when I saw it, I was relieved - it wasn’t too big at all!”
Rebecca came to easyauto123 Brooklyn looking to get a trade in combined with financing. Cassandra and Erol were all too happy to work this out and put a price together for her.
“Erol came out to see me after his meeting and the team quickly put together a trade-in deal with finance for me. No jargon, no sales talk. I like to be told things straight up and Erol and Cassandra were both very down to earth; very honest and clear with all the information I needed.”
Inevitably, Rebecca decided not to go with the trade-in and simply purchased the Captiva with finance.
“Cassandra did this without any problems. She changed the deal to exclude the trade-in and gave me a good price with financing on the spot. I’m so impressed with how easy they made everything for me.”
Future Travels
And now that she can enjoy a superior night’s camping in the comfort of the Captiva, what travel plans does Rebecca have on the horizon?
“To be honest, I’m not much of a planner. I like to do things on a whim. I would love to check out Phillip Island, though. I’d like to see the Grampians. My sister and her fam are heading over in September next year - some other family may visit as well. We’ll see what happens. We’re a bit spontaneous like that.”
And with the Captiva, spontaneity now means a good night’s sleep for the avid camper, as well.
